HISTORY GOAL MANUFACTURING PROCESS SUPPORT BRACKET ORDERING CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Kitco has been manufacturing the strongest, most stylish and highest quality fiberglass running boards since 1991. We consider ourselves one of the strongest fiberglass running board companies in business today. We started off with producing the full flaired models and now offer 3 different models for most truck applications. We use the highest quality resins and fiberglass products to produce a running board that will last the life of your vehicle. In 1997, Kitco started to produce the full flaired running boards for Winnebago motor homes. In 2004, Winnebago and Kitco redesigned the running board for a new stylish look. Kitco fiberglass running boards can be ordered in primer so you can paint them or you can ordered them painted ready to install. Kitco uses PPG brand paint to provide the same high quality of paint that is on the rest of your vehicle.
Kitco's goal is to provide you with the highest quality and most stylish running boards for your vehicle. To some people only one of these may be important, but to Kitco, both are of equal importance. We have a team of designers to make the boards fit your vehicle, not only in a close to body fit, but in looks also. It is not our style to just make a board so we have an application. We design the boards to have that "like it came from the factory" look.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS back to top of page Kitco uses the highest quality of raw materials to build your set of running boards. We start with the end in mind by using Cooks brand primer gel-coat to ensure a superior paint bonding after the board is made and is getting painted. After the gel-coat is cured properly, we apply chopped fiberglass with a mixture of polyester resin and catalyst which is the backbone of your running boards. Some companies use chipboard in their process for providing support in the step area. Chipboard is a glorified partical board with bigger chunks of scrap wood. When this absorbs water, it swells and the glue breaks down causing failure. Kitco starting using actual 1" x 4" wood in 1996 that does not fall apart when it gets wet. The wood is natural and no glue included, making a stronger more durable product for the end user, you!
